What is the history of this event?
Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma Junior Troop 889 originally organized the Run Your Cookies Off 5k to earn their Bronze Award- the highest award a scout can earn at that level. The plan was to host an event to benefit the community and donate the proceeds to the Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma Capital Campaign. Troop 889 raised $2000.00 for the campaign in which the Kirkpatrick Family matched at 33%!!

Why do I have to be 18 years old to participate in the 10k?
We figure if you’re old enough to join the Military, you’re old enough to know if you can run 6.2 miles at a decent speed without injuring yourself or getting sick.

Will the race be chip timed?
Yes! DG Productions will provide the timing.

Will there be food and beverages?
Yes! We will have a water and Gatorade stop near the 2k, 4k, 7k, and 9k locations. There will be water and snacks provided after the race too.

Will there be medals?
Yes! 5K and 10K Medals will be awarded for men and women for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
Our 5k USATF Divisions are as follows: 12 and under; 13-15; 16-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75-79; 80+
Our 10k USATF Divisions are as follows: 18-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75-79; 80+

When will the medals be awarded?
Medals will be awarded near the finish line circle starting at 8:15am for the 5k and at 8:45am for the 10k. You (or a family member or friend) must be present to get your medal. We will not mail them to you.

Are there bathrooms?
Yes! There will be 3 port-a-pottys at the Start/Finish Line. There are additional port-a-pottys on the course near the 2k/7k and 4k/9k water stops.

What if it rains?
We do the events rain or shine.

What if I get sick or can’t participate? Can I get my money back or transfer my registration?
We cannot change your registration or refund your money due to liability and insurance reasons. All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.

What if I signed up for the 10k and want to do the 5k instead (and vice-versa)?
We cannot change your registration due to liability and insurance reasons. If you sign up to do the 10k and decide to do the 5k, you must re-register as a 5k participant. You will not get the registration money for the 10k refunded. Please make sure you register for the right race for your fitness level.

Can I pick up a race packet for someone else?
Yes.

Where can I store my valuables?
In your car or with a friend or family member (or try not to bring any at all!!). We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Will there be a photographer?
Yes! Pictures will be provided by Photomeo.
